Happenings

A collection of Wang Gang videos and photos below:

Video 413 - Natalie recently learned to a skip (a few months ago) and now skips EVERYWHERE.

Video 414 - Lauren recently learned to run. Here she is running while Natalie skips. It's funny how Lauren waves her arms faster and thinks she is running faster :)

Video 415 - Lauren loves to sing and Natalie is a great big sister trying to teach Lauren some songs to sing for her coming school interview (in mandarin!). "Happy Birthday" is the easiest because it's a just a repeat of the same words over and over again.

Video 416 - Watch as big sister Natalie teaches little sister Lauren the actions for "Wheels on the Bus".  Lauren has been trying really hard to sing lately so it's great she has her big sister to sing together with.

In October, Natalie's class went to the beach.  It's easy to spot Natalie because she is wearing a big purple floppy hat with polka-dots (her favorite hat) to help cover her vitiligo spots (which are currently under-going phototherapy treatments).

Natalie told us afterwards that they had to form into groups and lines and played various games on the beach.

Now that I'm on maternity leave, I can pick up Lauren and Natalie after school.  I get Lauren first, then together we walk to Natalie's school bus stop (block 2).  On sunny days, we both get to wear our sunglasses.

Smile!

Ashley is now exclusively on formula (I weaned completely at 6 weeks due to thrush issues). This is what she looks like after a feed.  She has a milk beard!

Last Friday, Lauren and I went to "Ladies who Lunch" tea at Harrington's in the afternoon with Jackie, Mandy, VIP and Kat.  While there, Lauren snuck in a kiss with Lachlan.

Natalie and Lauren hold hands a lot now while we're out walking. Lauren initiates it by putting her hand in Natalie's and saying "Hand?"

Ashley is getting chubbier!  I wonder how much she'll weigh at her 2 month appointment?

Natalie Skates for the First Time

Last Saturday, Natalie went skating for the very first time. Natalie always says that she "doesn't like to go fast" so I was surprised when she said she was interested to try skating, although she was probably influenced by her cousins Vanessa and Victoria who take skating lessons.  Even more surprising, I am AMAZED that she was brave enough to skate without holding my hand!

Video 412 - Watch Natalie skating for the first time. Here she is happily skating with her cousin Nicholas (he is also a beginner skater) and this is her third time around the rink.

Below is a photo of our skating blockade. We took up almost the whole lane for a short time (just 2 minutes) and moved at a snail's pace for the beginners, Natalie and Nicholas.

I'm so proud of her for doing such a great job!  Now she says she wants skating lessons...

Thanks Por-por!

On Wednesday, Por-por left to return to Canada after helping me and Ashley through the critical moon-yuet period. Thank you so much for all your help, Por-por!  We loved having you here and will miss you very much. See you in March!

Por-por spent a lot of time with Natalie and helped her to complete her homework and review her lessons.

Por-por also got to spent more time with Lauren, especially in the mornings after big sis Natalie had left for school.

Below are two photos of Por-por holding a baby. Can you guess which baby is Natalie and which is Ashley?

Por-por also had a chance to pick up and drop-off Lauren at her new school.  Below are pics of Lauren waiting for the school doors to open in the morning.

It's great that the kindergarten puts out some toys for the kids to play with while waiting for school to start.

Por-por also witnessed Lauren's tantrum in the nearby Park n Shop. Lauren wanted to sit in the shopping cart (in the back) and we only offered her the option of sitting in the front or walking. She threw a mini tantrum and when it got nowhere, she decided she liked walking.

Por-por gave french braids to all of her grand-daughters (except Ashley who has no hair). Here the girls pose for the camera.

All the girls loved having their hair done and looking pretty.

Here is Por-por surrounded by grand-daughters...

...all five of them!

And of course Por-por spent a lot of time helping me with Ashley. I only bathed Ashley ONCE since she's been born.  Now that's Por-por's gone, I will have to touch up my how-to-bathe-new-born skillz.

See Video 411 of Ashley enjoying a bath with Por-por.

Por-por also trimmed Lauren's bangs.  Nice haircut, Lauren!

Por-por waited patiently for Ashley's little sleepy smile for this last photo before she left.

Us three sisters dropped our mom off at the airport (we brought Ashley with us) and spent a nice relaxing lunch together at the Peak Lookout.

Por-por shared a last cuddle with Ashley before boarding her flight back to Canada.  Thanks again, Por-por!

Face Painting

On Sunday we took Natalie, Lauren, Victoria and Vanessa to the Cyberport Market where we enjoyed some live music, ate popcorn and had their faces painted.

Natalie was very good at sitting still for the face-paint artist.

Vanessa chose this cute dog.

Natalie opted for the pink "princess" mask.

Lauren got a cute hello kitty painted on one cheek.

Victoria decided on this pretty underwater scene with a seahorse on one cheek.

The line was long but worth it - the kids really liked it and were so good at waiting patiently.

The 4 girl cousins together.

Guess who we bumped into?  Debbie yee-yee and Olivia!

Karaoke!

Last weekend, we took the girls and their cousins and Porpor to the CEO Neway karaoke in Causeway Bay.  The karaoke had children's songs and the kids all had a great time!

Video 410 - Here they are singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Vanessa and Victoria were active singers.  Natalie took a bit of time to warm up, but was soon singing loudly with her cousins.

Here Porpor poses with her 7 grandchildren.

Here's another shot. It would take a small miracle to get all the kids looking and smiling together.  Despite taking 20 photos, these were the best ones.

Lauren also sang a little of the "ABC" song but only knew "Peeee..." and "Meeeee".

Moon Yuet photos

On Nov 13th, we celebrated Ashley's moon yuet at the chinese restaurant in Chifu Landmark.  The banquet was deeelicious.  Below are some pics:

Victoria is happy and ready to eat!  We ordered fried rice and noodles separately for the kids to enjoy at their own "kids table".

The Ng's snap a family photo.

Vanessa is unwrapping a red egg with her Ma-ma.  Both the Ng Ma-Ma and Yeh-Yeh joined us for dinner.

Natalie and Victoria proudly display their unwrapped eggs. Not sure the eggs were eaten, but they at least had fun opening them!

Lauren waiting for her rice.

Nicholas also had an egg.

Of course Por-por was there, too. It was great to also see my cousin Connie. Thanks for coming!

Biter

Lauren's first line of defense is to use her teeth and bite. Guess who's nose she bit recently?

More Cousins Time!

With Por-por in town, Natalie and Lauren have been spending more time with their cousins than ever before.  When I asked Natalie if she preferred to hang with me and Ba-ba Clark or play with her cousins, she said, "I like to play with my cousins better."

A big thanks to Por-por, Lisa and Carol for taking the big girls out to play and leaving me some great bonding alone time on weekends with Ashley :)
