All About Ashley

Ashley continues to grow and change almost every day.  She's expanding her food experiences and getting strong enough to push herself backwards. She now spends a lot of time in her exersaucer, expertly playing with all the toys and turning herself around.  The half of her head that is shaved is growing slowly on the top, but has almost caught up to the rest of her hair in the back :)

Video 471  - Ashley has been doing a great job learning to eat solid food. Today she tried carrot, potatoes, parsnips and brown rice. She seems to like it!

Video 472 - Ashley is getting stronger every day.  She can get up on her arms and legs (in the crawl position) and she can also push herself backwards. Poor her, it must be so frustrating!

Natalie's phototherapy blister

On Friday, Natalie went for one of her regular phototherapy sessions and had the dosage turned up. A couple days later, we noticed the vitiligo patch on Natalie's forehead had started to blister and soon, it developed into a huge, water-filled blister.  Thankfully, it didn't hurt her. We went to the doctor and she had two days of a steroid "wet pack" put on her head and now she's on antibiotic cream for a week.

Ashley growls and giggles

Video 470 - Ashley loves to growl. She growls at me, she growls at anyone who plays with her, she growls at her toys and she growls at nothing at all :)

Video 471 - For a while, only Natalie could make Ashley giggle, but now Lauren can, too! I love watching the girls playing together :)

Park dates, play dates, and rainy days

We finally had a warm, sunny day and enjoyed time at the park where Ashley tried a slide for the first time. Then it turned a bit gloomier so we played with friends indoors, including a princess party and Lauren's first friend. Whenever we went outside, we made sure we all had umbrellas, too.

Ashley eating carrots for the first time

Ashley did such a great job eating her rice cereal over the past 5 days that we've decided to broaden her culinary horizons with carrots today.  We pressure cooked organic carrots (thanks auntie Deb).  She seems to like it!

Watch Video 469 of Ashley eating carrot puree mixed with rice cereal.

Look, I'm eating carrots!

They're yummy!

Seriously, you've got to try it.

The carrot that was eaten.

Just Hanging Around and Happenings

Video 468 - It's super cute to watch how much my girls enjoy each other.  Watch as Natalie makes Ashley giggle loudly while Lauren watches (and giggles) along.

Ashley's hair continues to grow in.  You can see that the left side is catching up!

Lauren was very pleased with her booger bubbles.

Lauren riding the play horse at the park.

Lauren trying a swing. I think this is her first time!  She didn't like it.

Cousin Vanessa being silly.

Natalie enjoying time with her cousins at Taikoo park.

Victoria's secret talent - playing in a full, pretty dress.

Natalie selected her own toy at Toys R' Us when Por-por was visiting.  Of course she picked the biggest one she could find!

Ashley sitting alertly beside me in her bumbo. She occasionally likes to keep me company while I'm on the computer.

My three girls hanging out together on Natalie's bed.

Ashley the crazy toy eating monster.

Ashley looked cute and confused while out-and-about with me in her sling.

Ashley meets uncle Brad for the first time.  A secret Giants fan is revealed.

The smallest diaper bag in the world.  Third baby... I don't sweat the small stuff anymore :)

Natalie had a virus and was dopey throughout her phototherapy session.

Clark and I taking the kids out to the park together.  They really love playing together now (well, except for Ashley).

Lauren loves using her training chopsticks and eating "jee gay" (by herself in Cantonese).

Natalie totally surprised us when she creatively drew juggling balls on this ant picture.  We love it!

Clark feeding Ashley with Natalie's help.

Natalie loves to help care for Ashley, too.

This was taken 2 days ago - progress on Ashley's uneven hair growth. Still too early to make any judgment on whether shaving a baby's head works or not to lengthen and thicken hair.

Ava making Ashley smile - so cute!

Looks like Natalie and her class had a great time visiting the Science Museum on Monday.
