Spring is in the Air!

Spring in HK is like summer in Toronto. The weather is nice and warm without being too hot and humid! We took advantage of the lovely weather a couple of weeks ago and spent some time at the park.

KCS Aerobics Day

Every year, Natalie's school (local section) puts on an "Aerobics Day" show where parents are welcome to attend and watch the students perform a dance. This year, I once again joined the paparazzi frenzy in the parents' mosh pit and came away with the below photos and videos.

See Video 349 of the start of Natalie's show where she and her classmates march to the front of the "dancing area" together. It's clear the students have been told they must stand with their feet on either side of the blue line and so many of them are looking at the floor and carefully placing their shoes on either side of the blue line.

Also see Video 350 of the actual performance. Natalie gives me a little smile and overall seems a bit uninterested in doing physical activity, but dutifully follows along with her classmates through the dance.

Lauren's First Solids

About 2 weeks ago, Lauren turned 6 months old and hit an important milestone... she began eating solids! Our first meal of choice was oatmeal. See Video 348 of Lauren's first few bites.

It's been great to see our two girls growing up together. It can be hard to get a good photo of them both because getting them to smile and look at the camera at the same time takes a lot of patience and luck.

Natalie loves to turn on this automatic rocker for Lauren. Although, it's always set on the fastest setting for some reason. Thanks to the Chen Den for lending this rocker to us!

Star of the Week

Can you guess who was the "Star of the Week" for her KG1PM class?

It's Natalie! She was selected as the star this week for using initiative when joining in with the group activity of making fruit salad. We're so proud of her!

Porpor in Hong Kong

Porpor was in Hong Kong again for one month. It was so great to see her again and she had a lot of opportunity to spend time with her 6 grandchildren here, including Natalie and Lauren. We didn't get many photos though, but we'll be together again in the Summer soon!

Happy 6 Months, Lauren!

Lauren turned 6 months old just yesterday. Time flies! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, baby!

New discoveries

Lauren has recently discovered her own feet! While sitting in the bumbo, she likes nothing better than looking, feeling and trying to eat her own feet while wriggling her toes, too.

Here are some recent pics of Natalie in her K1F class at Kiangsu & Chekiang Primary School. Every month they celebrate the birthdays of all the students born in that month and the students all enjoy presents and cake (and we enjoy the pictures!)

Today while changing a diaper, I ended up giving Lauren a full body bath (yes, it was one of those kinds of diapers). When finished, I let her have some tummy time on the sofa while I dug out some clothes and a camera...

But don't worry, I won't pee on the sofa.

Little Singer

Lauren likes to sing to herself before falling asleep. She does this almost EVERY TIME, even in the middle of the night after a feed. I can't sleep while she's singing so here's Video 346 of Lauren singing herself to sleep in the dark (turn up the volume).

Home-bodies

With Natalie sick all last week (mild fever) and out of school, we decided to stay in this weekend and just take it easy.

Past couple of weeks...

It's been a super busy couple of weeks since I've returned to work and am readjusting to the new schedule. Still managed to squeeze in a video and some family photos :)

The Real Zoo

A couple weeks ago, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and take the whole Wang Gang to visit the Central "zoo" which features mainly monkeys and lemurs.
