Lauren turns 6 years old

Lauren turned sweet six and we had a little cake (selected by her via Maxim's website) for her at home with family.  When asked whether she prefers a party or a present, she said: "Present" and when asked what present she would like she said, "Can I have an iPad?" :)  We said not until she's 8 years old, and she requested something more appropriate and perfect -- a Kindle. 

Posted to FB: I would be remiss if I didn't also post a quick snap of Lauren on her 6th birthday a couple weeks ago. She ordered the cake online with me and we enjoyed it as a family two days earlier than her actual day because I had to travel. For her birthday, Lauren received a Kindle (on request) from the four adults in her life, a necklace from Natalie, and a drawing from Ashley. I love you, Lauren! Life back to normal

With the end of summer, normal life has resumed with school (Lauren starts P1 this year and is doing great!), soccer for Ashley and Lauren, and gymnastics for Natalie.  The girls are also taking swimming lessons on Sundays now, too.

Summer in Toronto!

Every summer we have such a great time "home" in Canada for 6 to 7 weeks, attending summer camps, riding bikes, visiting the library, swimming, making dumplings, catching bugs in the yard and much much more.  Below is a snap shot of the first half of summer.  I'm now back in Hong Kong and missing the kids, but glad to have FaceTime. 3 weeks to go!
